Wes Montgomery - The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery (1960)
1923년 생인 Wes Montgomery 는 50~60년대를 대표하는 Jazz Guitalist 입니다만 그리 좋지 않은 환경 탓에 34살이 되어야 비로서 그 재능을 인정 받은 대기만성형의 뮤지션입니다.
하지만 1968년에 45세의 나이로 세상을 떠났기에 실제로 활동했던 시기는 그리 길지 않습니다.
Wes Montgomery 의 독특하면서도 비범한 연주의 색체는 그의 스승인 Charlie Christian 와 Django Reinhardt 의 영향을 받았고 이후 Pat Martino, George Benson, Emily Remler, Kenny Burrell, Pat Metheny, 그리고 Jimi Hendrix 와 같은 많은 뮤지션들에게 영향을 주었습니다.
이 앨범은 많은 이들에게 Wes Montgomery 앨범 중 가장 뛰어나다는 평가를 받으며 특히 그의 절묘한 테크닉을 감상할 수 있는 표본과도 같은 앨범으로 평가 받고 있습니다.
